WWII History Tour

GERMANY, AUSTRIA, & POLAND

Day 1

DEPARTURE DAY - transfer to the airport for your overnight flight to Germany!

Day 2

Arrive in Munich. You will be met and transported to your hotel to store your luggage. Head out for an overview tour of the city. Spend time on the Marienplatz (named after the gilded statue of the Virgin Mary). Grab a bite to eat and continue touring Munich. Munich is also home to the largest museum of science and technology, The Deutsches Museum. After your tour, have dinner and return to your hotel.

Day 3

In the morning, travel to Dachau. Visit the memorial site of the “ concentration camp for political prisoners.” This tour is not for the faint of heart. Prepare to see the atrocities of the Third Reich with your own eyes.

Upon your return to Munich, have lunch followed by a Third Reich walking tour of “The birthplace of the Nazi Party.” Uncover stories of the era, and visit where Hitler made his first speech.

Have dinner and return to your hotel.

Day 4

In the morning, travel to the Führer city, Linz; the place where Adolf Hilter spent his younger years. See where he went to school, church, and the theater. Also, learn about the unrealized vision of Hitler to build the Führermuseum that was to be filled with stolen art from all over Europe.

Afterward, have lunch and either head out for a cruise on the Danube River, or spend free time in the Hauptplatz (filled with cafes, restored buildings, and shops.)

Stay overnight in Linz.

Day 5

Depart for Mauthausen. Visit the concentration camp memorial site. That includes seeing the rock quarry and memorial museum.

Afterward, board the bus and continue your journey to Vienna!

Upon arrival, spend the afternoon exploring and shopping in the city on your own.

Day 6

You will see where Hitler spent his adult years in Vienna. He had multiple residences around Vienne on Stumpergasse, Meldemannstrasse, Felberstrasse, and Sechshauserstrasse.

Enjoy some free time in the afternoon in Vienna. Have dinner and return to your hotel

Day 7

You will be starting the final leg of your tour at the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp memorial site. This is a UNESCO World Heritage site and arguably the most profound and largest site of the worst atrocities in human history.

Concluding your tour, travel to Krakow. See the main square of the Old Jewish District along with the restored synagogues that the Nazis previously converted into storehouses.

Have dinner and check into your hotel.

Day 8

In the morning, Tour Oskar Schindler’s factory; as portrayed in Schindler’s list, this is the place where over 1,000 Jews from the Plaszow forced labor camp were saved.

See the Ghetto of Podgorze, and spend your last afternoon seeing all the history and beauty that Krakow has to offer.

Have your final dinner and reflections, then check into your hotel.

Day 9

If there is time, explore Krakow on your own. If not, a bus will meet you and transport you to the airport for your flight home.
